We’re counting down to the New Year with a free share prize draw worth £5,000!
Every successful referral made between 22 December and 31 December 2025 gives you the usual £10–£100 free share, plus an entry into the corresponding day’s prize draw.
There are 55 shares in the draw. These shares are amongst the most bought on Freetrade in 2025, by total buy value.
How it works
- Your friend signs up to Freetrade using your referral link between 22 December and 31 December 2025.
- They complete and pass our customer onboarding checks, fill out a W-8BEN form and fund their account with at least £50 (net) by 6 January 2026 at 11:59 PM at the latest.
- You and your friend will each see a single pending free share. It is a £10-£100 free share, and it will usually be awarded 7-10 days after your friend qualifies.
- The bonus free share draw you are entered into will depend on the day your friend uses your referral link and commences signing up to Freetrade. We will draw and notify all winners on 8 January 2026, and winners will be awarded their additional free shares by 9 January 2026.
For example, if your friend uses your referral link and starts their sign-up on 22 December, you’ll both be entered into the draw for one of 10 Super Micro Computer shares which are assigned to the draw on 22 December. If your friend fills out a W-8BEN or funds their account on a later date, will not change the draw you are entered into.
Important
- To be eligible for a free share and an entry into the prize draw(s) as a Sender, both you and your friend must fund your Freetrade account with at least £50 (net) by 6 January 2026 at 11:59 PM. Net funding is calculated as total deposits minus total withdrawals. Withdrawing the proceeds of free shares will count towards your withdrawals. If your and/or your friend’s funding falls below £50 (net) by 8 January 2026, you won’t receive an entry into the prize draw.
- If the Recipient withdraws from their account, causing it to fall below £50 net funding before the £10-£100 free share is awarded, the referral will be deemed unsuccessful, and neither of you will qualify for the £10-100 free share. If the Recipient withdraws and their funding falls below £50 (net) by 8 January 2026, neither Sender nor Recipient will receive an entry into the prize draw.
- If cash proceeds received from the sale of the free shares are withdrawn within 180 calendar days from the date the free share is awarded, we reserve the right to clawback.
- If terms of the offer are completed outside of the campaign dates, the usual Free Share Terms and Conditions apply, and you will not qualify for any entry into the prize draw.
Which free shares will I receive?
Qualifying referrals will both earn one £10-£100 free share as per the usual referral offer terms. For full details, see our Free Share page, which covers how to qualify and what kind of free share you will receive.
The probability is weighted, so more expensive shares will be rarer.
If your referral qualifies, as per “How it works” section above, you and your friend will also be entered into the corresponding prize draw.
Can I get multiple entries to the bonus share draw?
There is no limit to the number of entries you can get.
If you successfully refer a friend every day the offer is active, you will be entered into the specific prize draw for each of those days.
However, please note that the monthly cap of 10 referral free shares still applies as per our usual referral offer terms.
Referrals should only be made to family and friends, and links can’t be shared on public social media channels or forums. Breaching this term will result in disqualification from the referral programme and participation in the prize draw.
Why haven’t I received my £10-£100 free share?
If you haven’t received your £10-£100 free share, ensure that your friend has met the qualifying conditions:
- They used your referral link to open their Freetrade account,
- They filled a W-8BEN form, and
- They topped up with at least £50 (net)
If your friend topped up their account, then withdrew the cash, then, unfortunately, the referral was unsuccessful, and you won’t qualify for a free share. If your friend has withdrawn, it won’t be reflected on your referral tracking, so check with them that they still qualify.
Remember, as the referrer, you’ll also need at least £50 net funding in your account, too.
When will I know if I won a prize free share?
Once you make a referral, the first £10-£100 free share under our usual referral offer terms will automatically appear as pending in your account, and will usually be awarded 7-10 days later.
The draw for the prize free shares will happen on 8 January.
We’ll notify winners on the day if they’ve won! If you don’t win, you won’t get any communication regarding this.
Make sure you’ve subscribed to the 🎟️ Free share offers subscription list to get the notification. To check your subscription status, log into your app > tap the Profile icon in the top right corner of your Portfolio tab > scroll down to Help & support >tap Inbox Preferences to subscribe and unsubscribe to lists.
Do I have to pay taxes on free shares?
The entire value of the share when sold is subject to capital gains tax. You can check the value of each share when issued and/or sold on your portfolio screen.
Tax depends on your personal circumstances and rules can change. If you are unsure about any tax implications, seek advice from a tax professional.
2025 Final Countdown Bonus Free Share Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
Validity Period:
22 December 2025 - 31 December 2025 at 11:59 PM
Introduction
1. Freetrade Limited’s (“Freetrade”, “we”, “us” or “our”) 2025 Final Countdown Bonus Free Share Prize Draw (“Prize Draw”) is offered subject to these 2025 Final Countdown Bonus Free Share Prize Draw Terms & Conditions (“Prize Draw Terms & Conditions”). Freetrade is incorporated and registered under the laws of England and Wales with registered company number 09797821 having its registered office at 145 City Road, London, England, EC1V 1AZ, United Kingdom. We are the promoter of the Prize Draw.
2. By taking any actions in connection with the Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by these Prize Draw Terms & Conditions. These Prize Draw Terms & Conditions are governed by English law.
3. During the Prize Draw Validity Period above, the Prize Draw will run in conjunction with our Free Share Referral Programme. The Free Share Programme is governed by the Referral Terms and Conditions.
Entry
4. You will qualify for an entry (an “Entry”) into the Prize Draw if you are entitled to a Free Share (as defined under the Referral Terms and Conditions) as a result of meeting the eligibility requirements and making or receiving a Referral under the Referral Terms and Conditions, where that Referral has been completed by 6 January 2026 at 11:59 PM. You are entitled to one Entry per such Referral. There is no limit on the number of Entries you can have. You must make a Valid Referral (“Valid Referral”) within the 24-hour window of a specific day to be entered into that particular day’s Prize Draw.
5. You can qualify for Entry at any point during the Validity Period. No person will qualify for Entry after the Validity Period has ended. We can extend or shorten the Validity Period at our discretion. We may withdraw or amend these Prize Draw Terms & Conditions to the extent that the withdrawal or amendment is not to your detriment, by updating them on our website.
6. You will not be required to pay any charges in connection with Entry. There may however be separate charges associated with your Freetrade account.
7. Any Freetrade account opened will be subject to Freetrade’s Terms and Conditions which can be found here.
Winners
8. Winning Entries (“Winners”) will be chosen randomly by Freetrade using software on 8 January 2026.
9. The below table shows the available Bonus Free Shares on each date a Valid Referral is made during the Validity Period of the Prize Draw.
10. The Winners will be notified by email on 8 January 2026.
11. We will award any Bonus Free Share to which you are entitled by placing it into your Freetrade GIA.
12. We will use our best endeavours to transfer a Bonus Free Share to each Winner by 9 January 2026. If the Bonus Free Share has not been awarded to a Winner within this timeframe, the Winner should email freeshare@freetrade.io.
Prize Draw Limitations
13. Each Winner can only win a Bonus Free Share under the Prize Draw. There is no cash alternative.
14. Employees and contractors of Freetrade or its affiliates will not be eligible for Entry into the Prize Draw.
15. We may refuse to transfer any Bonus Free Share to you if we reasonably consider that you have engaged in activity we deem to be abusive, fraudulent, or in violation of these Prize Draw Terms & Conditions, our Free Share Referral Terms and Conditions here, or the Freetrade Terms and Conditions which apply to your Freetrade Account. We further reserve the right to prevent you from participating in any future competitions run by Freetrade or its affiliates where you have engaged in such activity.
16. If you seek to transfer out the Bonus Free Share or any cash proceeds received as a result of the sale of the Bonus Free Share within one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days from the date of the Award then we may clawback, sell or cancel any relevant Bonus Free Share awarded to you or sell any other shares held by us for you person and/or deduct cash from your Freetrade account of an equivalent value to the Bonus Free Share, as permitted under applicable law.
Tax implications
17. Freetrade does not give tax advice or take into account your individual tax position. You are responsible for understanding your own tax position in relation to your Freetrade account(s) and the Bonus Free Share (if awarded to you as a Winner).
No advice
18. Neither awarding a Bonus Free Share nor any of our communications in connection with the Prize Draw constitute a recommendation by us to buy, sell, exercise any rights in or hold any financial instrument. Under no circumstances does Freetrade provide investment advice and individual investors should make their own decisions on what investments are right for them or seek independent advice.
Your personal data
19. We will use your personal data for the purposes of ensuring your Entry and complying with our legal obligations. Your personal data will be used and held solely in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
20. Unless we are allowed to use your personal data under applicable data privacy laws, you have the right to object to our use of your personal data. You can do this by contacting compliance@freetrade.io. You acknowledge that our ability to perform our obligations under these Prize Draw Terms & Conditions may be affected if you exercise your right to object under this section.
21. Freetrade may however have a legal obligation to share the personal data of Winners and certain information about the Prize Draw with the Advertising Standards Authority on its request pursuant to Rule 8.28.5 of the ASA CAP Code.
Making certain information available
22. Freetrade is required to publish or make information available on request that the Bonus Free Shares were given to Winners in accordance with Rule 8.28.5 of the ASA CAP Code once the Prize Draw has finished. To comply with this legal obligation, we will send the surname and county of the Winner to anyone who emails compliance@freetrade.io within one month after the end of the Validity Period.
Complaints
23. If you have a complaint in respect of the Prize Draw you should contact our Customer Service team at freeshare@freetrade.io, where your complaint will be handled in accordance with our complaints order handling procedure.
