American media giants

The iconic news publisher, The New York Times, is now on your Freetrade app. A decorated newspaper with a record 130 Pulitzer Prizes, the Times has forged a successful subscription model in recent years as it adapts to life as a digital-first publisher.

Elsewhere in publishing, and there’s a good chance your first port of call for a new website domain may be GoDaddy. The internet domain registrar went public in 2015 and investors have gone ‘$GDDY’ as the stock has surged from around $20 to $70 in five years.

Other notable additions

  • Deutsche Bank $DB — one of the world’s leading financial services companies, dual-listed in Frankfurt and New York City
  • Fiat Chrysler — Italian-American carmaker, this group also makes Jeep, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati, if you’re feeling flush 🏎️
  • Loews Corporation $L — a US conglomerate with interests in everything from energy to insurance, Loews positions itself as a value investor with a long term focus.
  • Pool Corporation $POOL — not only the owner of a cool ticker, but we’d also like to be hanging by an actual swimming pool right now. This company is one of the leading makers of such pools. 💦
