We’re very happy to announce that serial fintech entrepreneur Perry Blacher is joining Freetrade as a non-executive director, with a view to becoming chairman pending regulatory approval.
Freetrade’s mission has always been to get everyone investing. To do that, we’ve designed and built an award-winning app, created our own brokerage platform and provided our customers with commission-free trading.
Making all of this happen has been a challenge but having a great team, with decades of combined experience in tech and finance, is what made it possible.
That’s why we’re so pleased Perry is joining us.
Aside from founding Covestor, one of the first robo-advisor companies in the world, and having been a successful fintech entrepreneur with three successful exits, he has become a VC, as well as a board member and advisor to various companies, ranging from financial institutions to tech firms and fintech.
Most importantly, he’s a community member himself: an early crowdfunding investor in Freetrade and an avid user!
To give you all a better idea of what Perry does and what he’ll be doing at Freetrade, we did a short Q&A with him. Enjoy!
I am passionate about faster, cheaper, better financial services. I have experience on all sides of growth technology, among other things I built one of the first robo-advisors, Covestor. I currently work with a number of high-growth fintechs, investors, and financial institutions.
I first heard about Freetrade in late 2017. I loved the concept. I invested myself personally in a Crowdcube funding round as I felt that the business has the potential to be transformative for UK retail investing.
Freetrade is all about the people. I was engaged by the mission of the founders, the quality of the team and the passion of the community. Plus my wife loves the app…
I check my Freetrade account every day. More realistically three or four times a day.
Amazon was the last stock I bought on Freetrade.
