All investments held within the Freetrade SIPP must be purchased via and held under ‘Invest by Freetrade’
The investment decisions are yours, but you can refer to investment guidance provided by Freetrade to help you determine what investments may be suitable for you. Please note that the guidance on suitable investments does not constitute investment advice and you are responsible for selecting the investment appropriate for you.
How do I decide what to invest in?
The Freetrade Plus, Standard and Basic plans offer you access to a Freetrade SIPP along with full access to the entire stock universe and other features. You can choose to invest in anything available through the ‘Invest by Freetrade’ service.
Think about building a portfolio made up of growing firms in growing sectors, across the globe.
If you don’t want to choose the shares in the portfolio yourself you could always opt for options like ETFs or mutual funds.
Popular SIPP investments
Diversification
ETFs and Mutual funds can be a key component of SIPPs.
For example, ETFs track a large set of stocks, so are a simple way to diversify your portfolio. ETFs are often designed to track the market, making them a good bet for a long-term investment.
Mutual funds can also provide diversification, reducing the impact that a single underperforming security can have on your overall portfolio.
Global
When it comes to stocks, SIPP investors have gone global. With tech companies from China and the US, to established banks, insurers and miners closer to the UK.
Going global gives you the best opportunity to capture growth, as a lot of it happens outside of the UK.
Industries old and new
SIPPs tend to hold both established blue-chip players known for their dividend-paying heritage and some of the fastest-growing companies on the planet shaking things up in their relevant sectors. E-commerce, computer chips and even new HR innovations are in there.
