How does this promotion work?
Refer a friend between 16 May and 29 May 2022 and you’ll both get two free shares each worth between £3 and £200. 🎁
To qualify for the two free shares your friend must:
- Sign up to Freetrade using your Referral Link between 16 May and 29 May 2022 at 23:59, and
- Complete and pass our customer onboarding process, fill a W-8BEN form and fund their account by 3 June 2022 at 23:59.
- The two free shares will drop into your General Investment Account within 7-10 days of you and your friend qualifying.

How do I refer a friend?
- Go to the Portfolio screen in your app.
- Tap on the Free shares button in the top right corner. 🎟
- Send a free share to a friend!
Your friend must complete and pass our customer onboarding process, fill a W-8BEN form and fund their account by 3 June 2022 at 23:59 in order to qualify for this 2-for-1 free shares promotion.
The two free shares will drop into your General Investment Account within 7-10 days of you and your friend qualifying. We can’t put them into your ISA or SIPP.
Remember, referrals should only be made to family and friends and links can’t be shared on public social media channels or forums. Breaching this term will result in disqualification from the referral programme.
When will I get my free share?
Once you make the referral, you and your friend will each see one free share pending in your account. The second bonus free share will appear 7-10 days later. 🥳
What free share can I get?
The probability is weighted so more expensive shares will be rarer.
Approximately 95% of instruments awarded will have a value between £3 and £10. Approximately 3% of instruments awarded will have a value between £10.01 and £25. The remaining 2% of instruments awarded will have a value between £25.01 and £200 (based on the price of the instruments at the time of awarding).
How many friends can I refer?
You can refer up to 10 friends under this offer.
